Payday 2 Review

Payday 2 is a first person shooter video game developed by Overkill Software. It has been released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Payday 2 is the sequel to Payday: The Heist.

Payday 2

Payday 2 has various heists that the player can either do by themselves, with the AI, or in a multiplayer game. The different types of heists include; bank robberies, drug trafficking runs, rigging an election, etc.

The level menu is set up as a website called Crime.net and missions pop up here as contracts in Washington DC. Players can choose to either open a contract to complete the game alone, pick a contract that another player has already started, or buy a contract with money from the offshore bank. Start gathering your very own heist money!

In The Payday 2 with more money and experience each level’s difficulty increases as the player progresses with the game. There are five difficulty levels throughout the game.

Pro jobs however do not have a difficulty level, they’re an independent contract that give additional experience but cannot be dropped if the player cannot successfully carry out the mission. Some missions may take a few days to complete, but each day is started with a new level and objectives.

The game may ruin the player’s first escape plan after a day and they will have to survive to make it to their backup escape. Make your own escape plans and complete independent contracts in Payday 2.

A majority of the jobs in the game require the player to have and use stealth. Players can receive bonus experience if they do not set off an alarm by avoiding being seen on camera, sneak around or quietly kill security guards, and prevent any civilian witnesses from calling the police.

If they fail to complete a mission without doing these stealth-related skills they will have to complete the objectives, carry all of the loot they found to a drop off point, and get to the escape point all while under pressure of being assaulted by the police.

Most of the enemies are DC policemen and FBI SWAT teams and GenSec private security contractors at the highest difficulty level. Along with these enemies are four other groups. The “Shield” and the “Taser”, both named after the equipment they carry, and the “Cloaker” and “Bulldozer”.

The Cloaker is an expert in hand to hand combat and the Bulldozer is a SWAT team member in a bulletproof bomb suit. Grab the Payday 2 and start fighting these enemies and their ruthless weapons!

If the player takes enough damage they will be knocked down. If no backup comes to help them and they continue to be knocked down without healing, they will be taken into custody by the police.

Payday 2

On lower difficulty levels players will eventually respawn, but otherwise a teammate must take a hostage to trade them for to get them back into the game.

In Payday 2, players collect money and experience throughout the game. The game puts 80% of the money into the offshore bank account for the player’s retirement but it can be spent on heists.

The other 20% is given to the player and they can spend it on weapons, masks, and skills. As players gain experience their reputation levels increase. Players earn skill points when their level increases and they can buy new abilities and bonuses from skill trees. When a player reaches level 100 they become infamous and have access to special skill trees but they lose all of their spending money from the bank account.
