Medieval Engineers is a game developed by Keen Software House as of May 2015. Medieval Engineers is a sandbox construction video game that includes physics and features tools and styles of building from the medieval times. This game can be compared to the first game developed by Keen Software House, which is another construction game called Space Engineers.
As a player of Medieval Engineers you can build several buildings; such as castles, barriers, and little towns. The goal of Medieval Engineers is to design and build structures that are strong and will last, only with the help of technology from the medieval time period.
Any structure constructed by the player in Medieval Engineers can be damaged, destroyed completely, or taken apart. Players want their buildings to continue standing, unless of course they go about taking them down themselves. Medieval Engineers features both a creative and survival mode.
The player is free to build without gathering resources and keeping themselves alive in creative mode. Developers are still working on Medieval Engineers survival mode, but it has just a bit more to it than collecting resources to build structures and tools.
The creator of Medieval Engineers wanted a game that incorporated the basic laws of physics and architectural history from the 5th all the way through to the 15th century. Any tool found in Medieval Engineers is guaranteed to be from the period of medieval technology. The actual construction also gets inspiration from building blocks in the real world, so the way things work in Medieval Engineers is meant to be realistic.
Its possible for Medieval Engineers to be played as an action game as well as a construction game. The developers hope that player will stray away from hand to hand combat with other players and use their building skills to fight their battles.
There are many structures that the player can build to offer them defense and offense towards any unfriendly players. Developers hope players can combine their creativity with their knowledge of engineering to create powerful and deadly machines made for war.
The world of Medieval Engineers is spaced out on a grid system to allow for accurate volume differences among the buildings built by the players. There are a few things the player can do in the open Medieval Engineers world. They can, of course, build a city with defense systems and even a castle.
They may also go mining under the grounds and get into landscaping by customizing the lands surrounding their buildings. It’s really up to the player what direction they want to take their gameplay in Medieval Engineers.
Since Medieval Engineers is currently under development there are some features that the developers aren’t going to reveal to the gaming community until it’s finished. They have said that all of the current features in Medieval Engineers are going to be improved to give the game a more complete feel.
Right now the developers are working on any bugs that might appear throughout the game and are adding more content to create a complete game for its players.
